The task of identifying the genre of a song has become more difficult over the years with the continuous creation of new genres. Simultaneously, there is an increased need for services offered by music and media streaming providers to automatically identify genres.
This data analysis project aims to develop a data model that will provide machines with the ability to listen to music and classify its genre using machine learning and deep learning technologies.
The data model uses a visualised format of an audio signal frequency and amplitude to aid in the detection process. The format mimics how humans hear sounds and frequencies.
