The focus of this project was producing a requirement elicitation document for a mobile application which would allow public transport users to purchase, manage and store their public transport tickets on their phones. There is a need for migration of paper transport tickets to digital tickets as paper tickets can fade, get lost or damaged, the app would also reduce the use of paper to create an environmental benefit. I have used the Business Analysts Body of Knowledge book in order to select and implement suitable requirement gathering techniques. I used five techniques in my project such as prototyping where I created a demo of the application showing its functionality and features. A survey which I created in Google Forms and published on social media for possible stakeholders to complete, I then analysed the feedback and discussed it in a focus group which was also one of the techniques. I conducted interviews with a public transport user, a developer and a public transport operations manager. Another technique was brainstorming and market analysis where I compared how the app would perform against its competitors.
