The objective of this project is to automate the fleet management of vehicles in the public transportation sector in Kenya which is managed by Saccos.

The main objective of this project is to come up with a project specifications document that contains detailed content, design and appearance of the proposed fleet management software solution. This will be achieved utilizing different techniques such as brainstorming, questionnaires and prototyping to gather the requirements from the stakeholders.

The gathered requirements will be used to plan the layout, design and performance of the proposed application prototype. The project proposes to come up with a way of automating the functions performed by Saccos which run public service vehicles including managing vehicles, drivers, ticket sales, timetables etc. Moreover, the bus owners can check reports regarding their vehicles.

The proposed solution will be able to record all the vehicles, their activities throughout the day, the status or condition of the vehicle, vehicle owner, transport routes and daily income from the business. The rosters of drivers and conductors can be captured and easily managed, daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports can be drawn for decision making. The proposed project also aims at enabling Saccos to submit reports to the legal authorities governing the transport industry and follow up on pending issues.
