eCommute is a system consisting of a mobile app and a web-dashboard that is aimed to introduce carpooling to Dublin and Ireland. The mobile Android application enables drivers to offer slots in private vehicles during their routine commutes to the members of their community. The passengers can then choose to join the suitable journey and conduct a private payment through their Google Pay account.

The mobile application provides booking, payment, rating and review functionality for both drivers and passengers. The web-based ASP.NET dashboard allows the developer to perform administrative and vetting tasks to ensure safety and reliability of the service. Through the encouragement of the car sharing activities the project aims to deliver benefits both to drivers and passengers in terms of covering the costs of car ownership and improving the commuting experience.

Overall the pilot project is posed to address the problem of insufficient public transport capacity and lack of infrastructure in Dublin and Ireland in short term perspective.
