Project Overview
Farming Friend is a web application primarily targeted at sheep farmers. This application will allow for the automation and organisation of typical paperwork used by farmers. Keeping track of paperwork in farming can be time consuming and tedious and often leads to human errors or misplacement of information.
All sheep in Ireland are required to have ear tags for identification purposes. Using optical character recognition on these ear tags in this application will allow for the identification of each animal and allow the farmer to easily keep records for each animal in the flock in relation to offspring history of each animal, medication received by the animal, when it was received, and when it is due to receive the next treatment.
Providing all of this information to the farmer in one single application will enable the farmer to make more informed decisions and in turn could improve overall flock health and performance, thus improving profits for the farmer.

Personal Bio
Fourth year Bachelor of Science Honours in Computing student, specialising in software development on track for a 2:1.
Six months experience as a software developer intern at Travelport. Four years part time experience in food production and hospitality. Strong organisational skills developed from combining full time studies with part time work while maintaining good grades.
Friendly, honest, and highly motivated individual that is open-minded and willing to learn and try new things.
Experience in HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, SQL, JSON, React.js and XML to name but a few. Can work well both as part of a team but also as an individual with a strong eye for perfection. Always trying to expand and develop my knowledge through research and independent study.
Interested in front-end UI/UX web development.
