Project Overview
Project Kelp is developed with retail SMEs in mind. The aim of this project is to be an introduction application to complex business information systems for traditional small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Traditional SMEs commonly facing cost difficulties when transitioning towards modern information systems especially in the training cost of the employees.
This project provides a solution by offering a web-based application for an inventory management system with easy-to-use graphical user interface which has a low learning curve and low hardware requirement. The application includes simple GUI and self-explaining icons to avoid confusion to the user. The project contains possibility of expanding into a complete Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) in the future, along with some useful small features like file sharing and timetable tools.
The website will first ask visitor to login or register their account, then the user will be redirected to the website's main page, allowing them to use various functions of the inventory management system including create their own stock list, register new product, and make changes to current inventory records.

Expected to graduate on May 2022, on track for 2:1, scored above 70% average for first semester in final year.
Over 2 years practical work experience as part-time IT advisor and online retail team leader in family-owned business whilst attending full-time education and maintaining grades. Responsibilities as IT advisor in family business including analyze sales report and provide opinions for daily retail, discount events and campaigns, consult IT hardware upgrades, recruited partner to manage online retail store, coordinate communication & host regular meetings between teams & departments, and meets external IT services provider for solution and quotations, including website development company, ERP company, and computer retailers.
Often delivers technology-related advices for decision making to friends and family business for more than six years. Tech enthusiast experienced with desktop PC, network tools and operating systems, hosted multiple game servers and administered gaming communities.
Speaks multiple languages including English, Chinese, Cantonese, and Malay fluently. Currently a Stamp 2 visa holder, available to be renew as Stamp 1G after graduation on May 2022.
